These relationships are not individualized nor optional, but interdependant by design.
They form a web and together become what make life itself possible.
We humans are no different.

When we forget this, we begin to experience ourselves as separate and self-sufficient, and much of our conflict follows.
For me, the ego is not the enemy so much as a necessary function
Perhaps the invitation is not only to set down the ego, but to become more like nature itself—to see and understand our function as participants in an intricate, reciprocal web where every relationship matters because life depends upon it.
