Thanks for your very helpful reply. I’ll read the pages you advise. I’ve already purchased the two books (Gita and Ladder) from Amazon and have started reading those. Still a long way to go on my learning journey, and you’ve put me on a good path.

I have so many questions about this… maybe not the forum to ask? If not, please point me in the right direction.

Is non-duality faith-based (like the monotheistic religions), or is there empirical evidence for it?

How do you overcome the ego to recognize non-duality? Your dispatch concludes with “None took the step, because the step is the one thing the mind cannot perform - the surrender of the one performing”. So, it seems like we just have to believe the counter-intuitive notion that we are not in control of our thoughts, words and deeds but rather a mysterious consciousness that is only aware of itself through the actions of sentient beings.

I don’t want to dismiss any of this as, deep down, I lean in this direction. But I find it very difficult to explain it in clear and simple terms to either myself or anyone who cares to listen.

I’ll keep reading, listening and learning. Maybe, one day, I’ll get it beyond the theory and into the practical.
