You have perfectly articulated my greatest fear. What will motivate people to do the heavy lifting to achieve mastery when it will be easier to be lazy and entitled to be just good enough and damn the consequences of mistakes? I’m currently reading Michael Pollan’s book A World Appears -A Journey into Consciousness and the chapters on machines becoming conscious- a theory being researched and pushed by serious technology companies underlines what I believe is dangerously going to fuel many into believing humans don’t need to master anything. Thanks for your continued contributions to these important topics. 🇨🇦

For your consideration the hard problem is what is consciousness. And for those with the sniff neck, they’ll never know. https://glenroberts911399.substack.com/p/zero-and-one-2b5?r=1pgr4n&utm_medium=ios

I just read it. Brilliant. I sent it to Neil Theise. Deep thinkers like you two need to be connected. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me. I definitely appreciate it.

Yes I’ve been reading about the hard problem for several years. Not sure if you’ve read Notes on Complexity by Dr Neil Theise? I’m on my 5 th reading of it. He thinks it’s non local. That’s where I am but it’s definitely the hard problem. Thanks for your recommendation.

It’s not as hard as people think it is the best example of consciousness is a good Samaritan. A person can talk about consciousness all they want but if you see a person on the other side of the room that is injured or suffering and you walk by them I’m not really interested in your white paper on consciousness. To understand the science of consciousness, you have to go to the oldest source, which just happens to be the oldest source and science of consciousness, the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads the Shiva Sutras 1,1 the self is consciousness

Neil is actually a practicing Jewish Buddhist so not merely an intellectual. I agree with you. Your life is your practice.

It is my intention never to use AI. Some might say that this will be impossible, but nevertheless, this is my intention.
