Every time I comment, it seems too much like effusive praise. But, honestly, I’m learning so much about myself in these essays. Tremendous lessons in philosophy, religion, consciousness in the context of today’s social, political and environmental challenges.
I’ve begun reading Sacred Metaphysics - A Reader’s Report: Thirteen Books Read and Reported. I’m eager for the remaining 11 books to come out in the Fall, and will soon delve into The Ladder of Light and The Bhagavad Gita.
Something I hope to understand better through all this reading and learning is about consciousness and death. Having lost a son to depression over a year and a half ago, I’m seeking to understand the nature of reality. Vinny was well read - I have found books by Jung, as well as religious tomes (eg, The Collected Works of St. John of the Cross) in his library - so maybe he was onto something that I never understood myself. I’m beginning to understand a bit better through these essays by Mr. Roberts. Perhaps this is the ego’s wanting, but it may bring some solace.
No, I’m lagging sorry to say. Thanks for asking, though. I’ve taken up meditation through an app I found online and finding great value in it. But it’s competing for my reading time. I started listening to an audiobook reading of the Bhagavad Gita, and have yet to compare it to the one I purchased from Amazon per your recommendation. As soon as my grandchildren are back in school, I’ll have a lot more time to focus on my learning.
May I ask what edition you are listening to? The Gita and the Ladder are the two books I transcribed. There are 10 more books to come, for a total of 13

Namaste how is the reading going did you finish the 10 days? Are you still on the 18 week Gita pace

To hate the sin and not the sinner ! Hard, but I am working on it - thank you, stay well
An excellent summary of Jung’s thinking on this subject. I anticipate further updates, moving into the realm of sacred metaphysics.
