Sovereignty, business confidence, large new support outlays, currency volatility and cross-border supply-chain fragmentation. Carney is the man, the only man for these times. 🦬
There is a book entitled “Meeting The Shadow.” This piece illustrates the whole thesis of the book, of the concept. We all have a “shadow” side - that side of us that we’re not real pleased with, usually not acknowledged because of that truth. The Knowledge Architect, again, illustrates this thesis beautifully using as the foremost example of the difference between Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Donald trump. Great description of the 'public players' in this trade war. The shadow of the braggart conceals (barely) his absolute desire for owning Canada - as he muses about owning North America & Greenland. While it's really assuaging his ego - if he accomplishes his desire - it is the wealth of O&G, critical minerals, and to be King of NA competing with Putin and China for power.
A thinking rational person might be fully consumed by that. Do you really think this would be the end of the braggart? That he has that reflection ability.
While Mr Trump spends his time golfing, planning an opulent ballroom, and having a glamorous pool of some sort built, the Chinese leaders are smiling very broadly. Already they dominate the world in many categories, such as making drones, solar panels, electric cars and much more. They will almost certainly become the world’s leading superpower within a decade. Meanwhile Trump focuses on alienating benign countries such as Canada—because he can, or so he thinks. His best buddy and evil mentor, Ray Cohn, taught him the “basics” of leadership: if you’re in any sort of trouble, just fabricate; pay no attention to rules; and always save yourself regardless of how it damages others—all indicators of very much neglected work on his own inner darkness
