Received, sister, and returned — the hard laugh and the sorrow both. I read Ecclesiastes at my mentor's memorial — "in much wisdom is much grief; and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow" (1:18) — and I've carried it since, because it was true of him and it's true of us: the ones who saw clearly carried the most. More of us in this lounge than anyone counts, and the ones gone ahead carried it too. We recognize each other; that's the gift. And to the young, always: this was never your failing — only knowledge arriving early, and the sorrow that rides with it. 🕯️
