One way of looking at the journey to sustained recognition is that we are born into and of this vast awareness … the newborn training angel dust… but the babies don’t recognize it. When I looked into my newborn grand daughter’s eyes, I saw it. The journey of a lifetime is to grow the ordinary mind so that it can recognize IT.

If i may add what you see in a newborn is the sacred We are born sacred somewhere we forget that and take the path of the ego and desire and attachment of the self Namaste

Thank you for this.

I can see why recurrence across traditions catches your attention.

It catches mine too.

I can't help thinking recurrence could also indicate relationship, structural similarity, common cognitive architecture, cultural transmission, convergent practices, or something we haven't yet even identified.

An echo doesn't require identity, It requires relationship.

Perhaps that's where our glasses differ.

You seem interested in what recurrence suggests is the same beneath the differences.

I keep finding myself interested in what the recurrence might reveal about the relationship between the differences.

I don't know which lens gets us closer, but I'm reluctant to turn the echo into the source.
